Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
We began our epic journey through the lush rainforest of Kilimanjaro’s lower slopes. The energy was high, spirits even higher. We saw blue monkeys swinging above us and felt the mist of the forest. The climb has officially begun!
Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Today, we climbed out of the rainforest and into the moorland zone. The views opened up, revealing distant snow-capped peaks. The altitude is rising, but so is our determination. Breathtaking scenery all around.
Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (via Lava Tower)
A tough but rewarding day as we hit the Lava Tower (4,600m) for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” strategy is no joke! The terrain looked like something from another planet.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
The Barranco Wall was intense! But we conquered it with teamwork and slow, steady steps. After reaching Barafu Camp, we prepped for the summit push. Resting early before midnight — the summit awaits.
Day 5: SUMMIT – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) & Descent
We started under a starry sky at midnight. It was cold and steep, but as the sun rose, so did our strength. Around 7 AM, we reached Uhuru Peak – the Roof of Africa! Words can’t describe the emotion. We took in the view, snapped photos, and hugged through tears. The descent was tough on the legs, but the summit made it all worth it.
Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in 5 days is a test of endurance, mindset, and soul. I'm beyond grateful for this experience and everyone who helped make it happen. If you're dreaming of doing it — don’t wait. It’s a life-changing journey. 🌍
